It is Molokaʻi or Molokai?

The state of Hawaiʻi is made up of eight main islands. One of the islands is named Molokai, but sometimes Molokaʻi (with the ʻokina mark). Both versions are heard from native of the islands as well as non-natives. So, what is the right answer?

In this episode, special guest Kanoelani Davis returns to talk about this topic. She is a native of Molokai, so this was a perfect conversation to record so we all can learn about this together.

This also brings light to the importance of names and its pronunciation.
